We take domestic auto repair to a new level of excellence.
While many auto repair shops in the Raleigh, North Carolina area pride themselves on fixing foreign vehicles, our thing here at Capital City Auto Repair is servicing cars made right here in the U.S.A. As a domestic auto repair shop, we service Chevy, Cadillac, GMC, Ford, Jeep, Lincoln, Dodge, and Chrysler vehicles.
On top of domestic auto repair, we can also perform basic maintenance services on any car made domestically, from tire changes and alignments to basic oil changes and more. Part of preventing significant repairs involves maintaining your vehicle right from the start, and our shop exists to make that easier than ever.

How to Describe an Auto Repair Problem
At Capital City Auto Repair, we want to help you keep your car running! When our customers bring their cars to us, we usually start the appointment by asking what’s going on with their vehicle. While you can always tell us your car just isn’t working or it’s making a weird sound, it helps us if you can be a little more specific. Here are some tips for describing an auto repair problem when you bring it into our shop.
What type of concerning noises do you hear coming from your car? You may want to describe them using any of the following words:
- Metallic, high pitch or low pitch
- Squealing, scraping, grinding, screeching
- Rattling, clicking, chirping
- Knocking, pinging, thumping, or clanging
Always describe the sound you hear from the position of the driver’s seat.
What type of physical actions are causing your car to be less functional? This can be anything from lurching when you come to a stop to vibrations or shaking when you reach higher speeds.
Are there any fluids coming from your car when it’s parked or runny? What colors are these fluids, and have you been adding any additional fluids to your vehicle?
If there are any illuminated warning lights on your dashboard, let us know! Even if you don’t know exactly what these lights mean, you can always describe their basic appearance. If you can, it also helps to tell us when the warning light came on for the first time.
